Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a session?

During the first session, we discuss your needs and issues and will do an in depth physical assessment to ascertain the direction your  yoga therapy will take.  During follow-up sessions we do a brief check-in and any necessary assessments and then proceed with learning, practicing, and reviewing the tools and skills for your particular condition, goals, and needs.

How long does each session last?

The first session is usually 1.5-2 hours.  Each  follow-up session is 1 -1.5 hours, depending on your needs and questions.

How long will I need to do Yoga Therapy?

It varies for each client, but many clients will want to commit to 3-5 sessions for the best results.   Some clients will only want a one time session to develop a personal yoga practice or to work on a specific, targeted goal. I sometimes work with clients for longer periods of time. It is very individual and Yoga Therapy is not  one-size-fits-all.

Is there a religious component to Yoga/Yoga Therapy?

While many yoga practitioners find a deepening spiritual life through the meditative practices of yoga and by taking time and space to develop a sensitivity practice, yoga itself is religiously neutral. At Padma Yoga Therapy, we do not promote or teach any spiritual path, but respectfully encourage each individual to deepen their own individual spiritual practices whatever they may be.

How much does yoga therapy cost?

Home visits within a 10 mile radius of my home office are $65.00.   Home visits greater than a 10 mile radius are charged at an additional rate.  Please ask if you are interested in this option. If you are interested in individual or small group yoga instruction please inquire for rates.
